BATTLE OF ANTIETAM COMMEMORATIVE POSTER

Also a student project, this piece was created to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Antietam. This project was rather open-ended as far as the content dictated. I chose to approach this piece from a primarily typographic approach, researching Civil War era typography. I utilized and manipulated an engraving of an eagle as the primary artwork, adding a tear to the eagle as I called attention to the casualties of the bloodiest battle of American history, Whether north or south, each soldier who fell was an American nonetheless.

WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY ABOUT MY WORK
"Corinne is one of the strongest students to graduate from our program in some time. She's smart, fun, creative, and has an incredible work ethic — just take a look at her sketchbook! Corinne is a team oriented designer and takes criticism very well. She's solidly grounded in fundamentals, knows all the software, and is quite thorough in her preparation and presentation. Any firm would be lucky to have her." —Mark Fertig, Chair, Department of Art at Susquehanna University
